Custom Clothing FAQ

Please, submit yoru custom enquiry form, and send your logo/grpahic or artowrk idea in a high resolution (preferably .ai or .eps) file format. These are both vector art files which allow the artist to resize and make any necessary changes without recreating the logo. If you don't have either of these, you can send us a high-resolution jpeg and we’ll go from there. Tell us if you have any particular colours you’d like (Pantone colours preferred) and your design ideas, and our artists will give you a few options to start with.

From the date of final artwork approval, Hawaiian Shirts &/or Shorts generally take about 6-8 weeks for production. Artwork approval can take one week to a few weeks, depending on your needs and the number of revisions required. Please let us know if you have an exact deadline as soon as possible and we will let you know of our current delivery times. We can sometimes accommodate a faster turnaround time contact us custom@islandstyleclothing.com.au and we will discuss your requirements. We ask that you be aware that there are occasionally unexpected manufacturing or custom delays beyond our control (such as Covid-19 which is causing production and shipping delays), but we recommend that if your order has a must-have-by deadline to place your order sooner rather than later to avoid any possible disappointment. 

We take pride in our high-quality products and want you to be proud to wear them too. As everything is made-to-order to your specifications, we cannot accept returns. However, we realise that sometimes mistakes happen. If your items are not as you approved or have manufacturer defects, please contact us directly and we’ll do our best to make sure you’re completely satisfied.

We include shirt artwork with a committed shirt order. We invoice you $100 to commence artwork, which will be deducted from your deposit once order placed. However, if you decide not to purchase shirts after we create artwork, or if you have excessive revisions, we will bill you for the art design time and will not refund your $100 artwork charge. Usually, a few rounds of shirt artwork is 1-3 hours, for which we are billed $65/hr. We include 4 revisions with orders of up to 100 pieces. Most customers find a design they love within a couple of rounds,so this mainly applies if we make artwork and you decide to not get shirts after all. If you decide to order shirts later instead, we will deduct the cost of your artwork from your purchase.

We are experienced in colour matching our clothing to particular colours and logos. We utilize the Pantone colour matching system (PMS) to track colours as accurately as possible from the artwork to finished product. However, perfect colour replication is not guaranteed: PMS colours are for printing ink on paper, but we are using dye on fabric. Please note that colours can also appear different on your screen than paper or fabric and can also vary depending on the type of material you require ie cotton or rayon - generally colours pop brightest on cotton. If needed, we can sometimes request a physical material swatch sample with a placed order for you to verify the colour; however, this adds at least 2-3 weeks onto your turnaround time.

We can make your order into any split of men and women’s and children’s sizes, from XS-12XL. Our men’s/unisex sizing is designed for a looser fit like a traditional Hawaiian shirt. Our women’s shirts are smaller/more fitted/shorter. Otherwise, they are the same cut (just with the buttons on the opposite side for the women’s shirts). Please note that women’s sizing, especially the women’s small and medium, does run small. We recommend you may want to go up a size or two for the women’s sizes or use the men’s/unisex sizing instead. View the Size Chart.

Please notify us if you have a hard deadline, so we can establish the time frame needed to ensure your delivery date. While we do our best to ensure every customer receives their order in a timely fashion, we cannot guarantee delivery for dates that we are not given in advance. If your order is a rush order (ie, shorter than our stated general turnaround times for that item) and we must ship your order directly or overnight, you will be responsible for those shipping charges. We have no other rush fees. We are experiencing longer production and shipping times at the moment due to Covid-1 restrictions.

Hawaiian shirts have a 20 piece minimum. Price decrease with larger volume orders.

Once your order is finalised, we require a 50% deposit. The balance is due before we ship your order. Note production will NOT begin without a deposit paid.

Your total includes the pricing for your custom shirts or shorts, any additional artwork or screen charges. Shipping charges from our headquarters on the Sunshine Coast to you is NOT included and depends on the size of your order and where you are. We will quote each order indivually. Please let us know if you need a formal quote or have any other billing concerns.

1 x Chest pocket is included at no extra cost (usually ladies shirts have no pocket) but this can be added. NOTE: if you require an exact pattern matched pocket there is $1 extra charge per shirt.
